The time between posts seems to be getting longer, doesn't it? There has not been anything in particular that I have wanted to write about, nothing of any interest to anyone else anyway. That isn't the reason I write this blog though, it is more personal than anything else. Of course, anyone is free to read it. If you find it interesting, then that is great.
Gaming stuff
As you might have gathered, I have been collecting arcade peripherals. Arcade sticks for various systems. It is difficult to say which is the perfect one, I have many now, some of which are expensive and of a better quality, and others of some what lesser, but with great potential.
So far, I think that the best of the bunch is the Madcatz tournament edition. It is nice and big, has some weight to it. You get a sense of quality. The design is nice, plenty of hand room. And of course it comes with quality Sanwa arcade parts. The only downside is that it is only for one console (PS3), and that adding multi console support (while doable) is a pain. But then again, having different units for different consoles is part of the fun.
I recently picked up a couple of Dreamcast official sticks, they have yet to arrive in the post. I might do a video review of my thoughts of them. Check this space.
Recent projects, I picked up a clone of the Sega Virtua stick (originally for Sega Saturn) for the (original!) Xbox. I didn't like the buttons, so I took them out, only to find that they are not a standard size. this put me off at first, but then I got the dremel out, and made the holes bigger. I put in some spare Sanwa replica buttons. Those are much better. Modding the stick itself is more of a hassle, but it seems OK.
